Fall Foliage: Holy week Reflections (April 2022)

A usual walk in the park on the 9th April year 2022 is not one of those ordinary weekend encounters. Aside from the fact that it was the last weekend prior to this year's Holy week Season. It was on this day that my daughter and I experienced the beauty of Fall. Yes, Fall!

If you think its quite odd, here's the whole story. 

After a short walk from our house, we sat in the middle of the park where you can find a round coliseum- like benches, slim- tall trees surrounding us and a beam of sunshine trying to sneak from above as it casts a little shadow and sunshine where we sat. 

A little over a few minutes later, we heard a soft gush of wind coming through causing the slim- tall trees to sway. Then small leaves slowly descended right after, filling out the park's cement floors with yellow and green leaves. Looking up, I saw a beam of sunshine pointing straight towards us, as the leaves slowly falls above our heads. 

That moment of slow motion - when I thought it's only possible in a romantic type of movie wherein "a woman finally sees her knight in shining armor" and then they fell in love. That moment of "Falling in Love" was made to life through the Fall Foliage. I was reminded of God's Love to the people of Israel as He provisions them towards their journey to the promise land. 

“I will rain down bread from heaven for you." (Exodus 16:4) In application: We too can experience True Love! As we depend solely in our Loving God, His provisions varies and it overflows. From bread (Food) Financial, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual aspects of our lives. He takes care of it all for us. May we all be reminded of what Christ did for us to pay for our sins, and how much He loved us during this Holy week season.

Acts 4:10-12 "Then you know this, you and all the people of Israel: it is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead , that this man stands before you healed. Jesus is "the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone." Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved,"

For 4 years, my Alma Matter was and still is the University of Santo Tomas .  There are a lot of reasons to be proud of this University. The Character built within each and every students who enroll in this campus are remarkable and I can say made us, Filipinos proud of our race.  For Centuries (400 years), Catholic catechism has been the basis of the University's teachings. When I took up Fine arts back in 2002, there are less lectures and more on hands-on drawings and labs. This means lesser class hours for Christian living lessons *sigh. Less time, but unforgettable teachings. How can I forget my professor, Mr. Cura? He was 65 years old back then, but still he was teaching. He was a real emblem of PASSION, PATIENCE. He was a real inspiration for everyone whom he shared his life with. August 7, 2010 (Saturday) Lesson #1 Each and every patient is unique. They might have the same symptoms, but they have different causes. The doctors should treat each patient differently, ask questions, and listen. In our case, I told this doctor that my daughter has cough for almost a month now and the doctors including my daughter's pedia heard that her lungs are clear whenever they listen through it. Hope For Haiti now

6 continents, 60 countries, 60 International Networks.. Different people all over the world joined towards one goal and that is to help our Haitian people. Helping from the other side of the world may not have the same impact when you have close encounter with the Haitian victims of the Earthquake that happened last January 12. Thanks to CNN and online streaming, people here in my country were able to keep in touch and it feels like we're not too far at all. I was one of the people tasked to do a brief training to those who volunteered for the telethon organized for hopeforhaitinow. At first, I was hesitant.
