IPAD rivalry

Watch out for this new gadget from Blackberry named Black berry Playbook which will be released early 2011 at the US! Whew! This sure is one hell of a gadget. If the reviews will turn out what it was described to be, and it indeed has a 5- mega pixel camera! (which I think would be the edge of this gadget from Apple's IPAD ) Am sure a lot of photo enthusiasts would prefer buying this lovely gadget over IPAD.  Here's a brief over view of the specifications for this gadget. *7-inch display *0.9-pound tablet that’s 9.7mm (or 0.4 inch) thick, complete with (as rumored) a pair of cameras: a 5-megapixel camera in the back, and a 3MP lens in front, both capable of recording HD Video *Has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, with both 3G and 4G

Karate Kid- The better late than never Review

Image
I just  had a DVD copy of Karate Kid starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan and watched it last night. * I know, its was like decades since this show was released on the big screen and I would say I 've been out of the movie circulation since I started to be a house-mom.  Well anyways, here's what I think about this movie.   I've seen a lot of comments in facebook regarding this movie and honestly several months ago, and these mediocre comments I've seen made me decide not to watch this movie since there's nothing extra - ordinary about it * I think. When I watched the movie, the very drive I had that made me go on watching  was when I saw how cute Jaden Smith was and how great he played the role of a prodigal-son like Dre.  Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) also did a great job in acting such a grumpy- old man who doesn't seem to know how to have fun in life.  Aside from the beautiful picture of  The Great Wall of China that was captured on this film, I felt ...

2010 UAAP Cheerdance Competition (Kudos to UST Salinggawi)

This Year's UAAP Cheerdance was a hell of a "Simple-Majestic" theme for UST. Simplicity was evident when they used less props (UST @ 400 out of the box which only signifies that UST had an old tradition that they wanted to share to everyone in this genre)  Also, their neutral colored costumes highlighted the stunts and the routines which I think should be the basis of this competition and not just some childish, bright colored props and costumes. *Sigh The Majestic, classical song opened the Salinggawi's performance and I guess it really went well with the most breath-taking, death- defying stunts they have ever done. UST didn't make it on the Champion slot, I just wanted to say KUDOS to the UST Salinggawi Dance troupe for making another milestone. You have made a difference once more! Sincerely. Mica- a proud Tomasino..

Me and my Chinese friends

I definitely miss these peeps who keeps on following my blogs and make sensible comments whenever they get to read my posts. I miss using the online text translator so that I could understand what they have posted on the Comments box of my blog. For me its like a puzzle that I need to solve whenever we try to communicate through my comments box field and I kinda liked it. After the hostage incident, my Chinese followers suddenly disappeared and hid themselves from my blog. I sincerely hope they do not generalize the mistake done by specific people and continue to do what they feel is right, and that is to be Happy (when they read through my blogs) without any pint of condemnation for all of the Filipino people.

A test of true friendship

How would you know if your bff is real and not just some kind of good ol pretender sneaking up your lives until he or she finds a way to ruin it if had a chance (sounds like some bitches to me LOL) Well here's a list of things you should remember to check if your bff's are real... check it out. 1. After years of not seeing each other, do you easily still get along well? There might be a bit of awkwardness at first sight after 8 years, but still you can effortlessly bounce back into the feeling of mutual friendship and trust. 2. Can you still talk about almost everything that happened in each other's lives fluently? Seriously? Although you two have walked on different roads of lives, you'll find it surprising that you can still listen to his/her experiences and still give good advices even though you haven't been through the same situation as your friends. The result, a wonderful and unbelievable conversation and you both learned from it. 3. Do you fig...

Draw me close once again (A redeeming Sunday to everyone!)

"Draw me close to you, never let me go. I lay it all down again to hear you say that I'm you're friend" Lately I felt that You are too far away from me. I can no longer feel You're wonderful presence. Your hands that pats my back when every thing's not turning out right and with just a snap, everything will feel right even though It isn't yet. I yearn for Your loving presence oh Lord. I need to be drawn close to You. "You are my desire, No one else will do. Nothing else will take your place to feel the warmth of your embrace. Help me find the way, bring me back to you" With You I have found my shelter. You are my shield against emotional endeavours this life has to offer. Neither anyone, nor anything can take Your place. That's why I'm going back to Your loving presence. "You're all I want, You're all I've ever needed. Help me know you are near" Hear my heart out Lord. Hear me cry, my plead. I need Your...

August 23 - Manila Hostage drama (from a Filipina- blogger's own opinion)

Last August 23,2010 marked  the most tragic, disappointing and shameful hostage drama I ever witnessed in my entire life. The first time the news about it was aired on National television, I quietly said to myself  "This won't take long.. I do pray the authorities give out the hostage-taker's plea immediately.." I was at the mall with my daughter when I first had a sneak about it inside a money transfer store so I haven't had the chance to really dig into the details as to who the hostage- taker was, and what he wanted in the first place. It was 11 am then, we got home, took a nap beside my daughter and I woke up past 2 pm only to realize that the media are now keeping their camera's on this Bus with the hostages and hostage-takers inside it. It was only then that I realized that the hostage-taker was a previous PNP ( Philippine National Police ) officer, Rolando Mendoza, who was dismissed last year due to a violation and all he really wanted wa...
