Fall Foliage: Holy week Reflections (April 2022)

Image
A usual walk in the park on the 9th April year 2022 is not one of those ordinary weekend encounters. Aside from the fact that it was the last weekend prior to this year's Holy week Season. It was on this day that my daughter and I experienced the beauty of Fall. Yes, Fall! If you think its quite odd, here's the whole story.  After a short walk from our house, we sat in the middle of the park where you can find a round coliseum- like benches, slim- tall trees surrounding us and a beam of sunshine trying to sneak from above as it casts a little shadow and sunshine where we sat.  A little over a few minutes later, we heard a soft gush of wind coming through causing the slim- tall trees to sway. Then small leaves slowly descended right after, filling out the park's cement floors with yellow and green leaves. Looking up, I saw a beam of sunshine pointing straight towards us, as the leaves slowly falls above our heads.  That moment of slow motion - when I thought it's only p...

2022: Life life to its fullest ( Ecclesiastes 9:7)

Image
In Ecclesiastes 9:7 , the Lord Commanded us to live life to its fullest!   " So go ahead, Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!" 2021 was the year of Rebirth. It was during this year, that everyone slithers towards life's distress, disappointments and failures and then succeed. Loved ones lost, jobs went shaky, businesses foreclosed. These and many more became life's most treasured lessons from the preceding year. I too had my own fair share of these life lessons, it was nothing compared to those who have lost and grieved. But it was during these formidable times that I decided to look beyond what my naked eyes could see (1 Corinthians 2:9). It was only then, have I started to press forward.  This year, the Lord wanted us to enjoy the fruit of our perseverance, obedience and hard work " the (se) things God has prepared for those who love him" May this year be a fruitful year for all us. May He fill our ...

My Daily dose of Faith: More than water

Image
During one of the many episodes of sleepless nights last week, I woke up at 2 in the morning feeling dozing off, with excruciating head ache ( because of  less than 5 hours of sleep ), and extremely thirsty.  I had been working my ass off squeezing in months worth of  data trying hard to learn at least half of them in less than 5 days. A sudden feeling of burden dawned on me, leaving me crying without any reason at all.  It took awhile for me to realize how drained I was: Physically, Emotionally and even Spiritually. Only then have I decided to cry it out to Lord, through which I haven't done for a long time. Then I came across this daily reading entitled : More than water , by Peter Chin . Our Daily Bread Diary Edition , Vol 27.   The writer highlighted the importance of the Living water, and stated that different perspectives from a young believer versus that of a matured follower of Christ.  I was then reminded by the Holy Spirit on the day I willfully ...

Two Plus One = A fragment of blessing

Image
Deuteronomy 16:17 : "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you."   Today, this verse's application came to life earlier this morning as I went to the market to buy fresh food in preparation to the food I am about to prepare for lunch time.  At one of the corners of the marketplace, there is a parked jeepney where "Manong" and his wife sell their Local product called Banana  (lakatan and saba). After I got all the major food supplies needed for the two weeks ECQ, found myself left with an exact amount to buy two large pieces of saba which is just the right amount for today's  meal called Pochero. To my surprise, "Manong" proactively asked "Bakit dalawa lang?" Then I said, this is enough for me. He then reached out to the pile of banana and then gave me another piece, then jokingly said. There! That's three , for I - Love- you . I smiled and thanked "Manong" w...

A thank you Note- From QA Sup April 12, 2021

"Its not how long you lived but how you lived your life in full..." An old saying that goes around but will never really dawn on you until you really lived and then someone else testifies about your life in your Eulogy.  I was blessed enough to witness a true testimony in this lifetime through simple heartfelt notes and genuine gestures from people whom lives started with me sharing their first few baby steps within Quality. To some, their first few years within Quality may be full of Motivation, then Joy, then Pain, then Disappointments, then Anger and then Demotivation. I for one shared a piece of those experiences during my first 3 years being an Analyst. But these disappointments gave me a bigger perspective and helped me become a Leader who tries to despise those negativity by Nurturing them - Newbies to the best of my ability, teaching them the very core of Quality. And Instilling to them- Tenured a hunger for growth and passion of sharing a piece of oneself to hel...

A daughter's note : Blessed 60 years, Ma!

OUR COVID-19  ZOOM CELEBRATION Take a peek of the Sally's Tribute here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPPAArUZVHU At exactly 30 days before November 14th , I started thinking of a project that would make your 60th birthday special amidst our distance. With zero knowledge about professional video editing, I started asking for video messages from family and friends while I cling to only these two things : my artistic capabilities and  lots of courageous love.  Fast forward, I started creating the project as soon as I receive responses back from family and friends. While doing my researching and conceptualizing. I was too focused in cropping and highlighting video messages so I can come up with a holistic video, capturing who you really are in other people's eyes. Not realizing that as I transform these into a one ...

A BEAUTIFUL THING: Daily devotion in the middle of COVID-19

Image
As this outbreak started to paralyze my daily routine starting March 17th of 2020, I was entoiled while catching up with my 20+  daily devotion back logs. Then on my 66th day, I came across this devotion entitled : A Beautiful Thing . wherein it sums up all the Beautiful things that happened to Moses and the Israelites (Old Testament) and Jesus' Crucifixion ( new testament) .  These stories are an epitome of Irony as the Israelites were given the Ten Commandments out of God's love while the people, instead of enjoying it, lived a life of indirection for 40 long years. Likewise when Jesus was about to be crucified, a woman poured an expensive perfume over His head. Doing so fulfills the anointing Jesus' body for burial ahead of time.  While these two are glaring example of two different perception of Beautiful, I was left with two reflective questions: What is the meaning of beautiful in the Lord's eyes? and What is the meaning of beautiful in a human perspect...
