Wrapping up 2023: Holistically healed with a heart

Image
My 2023 by far, has been the least extravagant but most productive season in my Christian Life.  Looking back, the Lord has been faithful and true to His words in Psalms 1:1-3 (My Life verse last January 1, 2023)  "  Blessed is the one   who does not walk in step with the wicked  or stand in the way   that sinners take  or sit in the company of mockers,  but whose delight is in the law of the  Lord ,  and who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,  which yields its fruit in season  and whose leaf does not wither—  whatever they do prospers." I can list down a lot about the Lord's goodness this 2023 and I can go on and on, but here are the most major ones:  1. The Lord has blessed and made His work prosper through me and in me through my current position in my workplace . The Lord allowed me to go through different up-...

Wrapping up 2022 : Affable Sagada- a short trip to the Mountain province.

One of the infamous lines from this Tagalog Movie: That thing called tadhana "Paano ba makalimot?" was the most common force that leads most of the travelers near this affable sagada. To some, this may be true. But as for me, our Trip to Sagada last December 22, 2022 was a mix feeling of "life- changing" , "most needed break" and "soul searching" experiences. Indeed, this place did not disappoint. "Life Changing Sagada"  I booked this trip in order for us (my daughter and I) to obtain a different perspective about life and relationships. True enough, the Lord had opened my eyes seeing things I do not normally see in my regular home- work- church rigor.  The recent pandemic had strengthened our Faith in the Lord and taught us how to depend in HIM alone. But living with the natives of this place for three days: doing things they normally do , eating the food they normally eat and simply going through different places within the villa...

The Lord has done this.

Image
Growing up, I always enjoy watching my sister and Mother sing on stage during their school and off school performances. During that performance, I will always be that number 1 fan- cheering loudly amongst the audience. There is no doubt, they are one of the many singers amongst the family I enjoy watching. During our family videoke gathering, I admire how vast their song list would be, it only goes to show they can truly sing beautifully.  Who would have thought in my mid 30's, the Lord would allow me to experience the same thing, this time for His greater glory? Yes, during this pandemic (2021), the Lord instilled in my heart the desire to sing songs for HIM through praise and worship songs. Come 2022, He opened an opportunity to become part of CCF Fairview Exalt Team as one of the prompters under Band Leader- Kuya Roms and Worship Leader: Cassiah (TEAM C). I was one of the matured but novice members, but the Lord is so good that He gave me a skilled and patient leader who would t...

Fall Foliage: Holy week Reflections (April 2022)

Image
A usual walk in the park on the 9th April year 2022 is not one of those ordinary weekend encounters. Aside from the fact that it was the last weekend prior to this year's Holy week Season. It was on this day that my daughter and I experienced the beauty of Fall. Yes, Fall! If you think its quite odd, here's the whole story.  After a short walk from our house, we sat in the middle of the park where you can find a round coliseum- like benches, slim- tall trees surrounding us and a beam of sunshine trying to sneak from above as it casts a little shadow and sunshine where we sat.  A little over a few minutes later, we heard a soft gush of wind coming through causing the slim- tall trees to sway. Then small leaves slowly descended right after, filling out the park's cement floors with yellow and green leaves. Looking up, I saw a beam of sunshine pointing straight towards us, as the leaves slowly falls above our heads.  That moment of slow motion - when I thought it's only p...

2022: Life life to its fullest ( Ecclesiastes 9:7)

Image
In Ecclesiastes 9:7 , the Lord Commanded us to live life to its fullest!   " So go ahead, Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!" 2021 was the year of Rebirth. It was during this year, that everyone slithers towards life's distress, disappointments and failures and then succeed. Loved ones lost, jobs went shaky, businesses foreclosed. These and many more became life's most treasured lessons from the preceding year. I too had my own fair share of these life lessons, it was nothing compared to those who have lost and grieved. But it was during these formidable times that I decided to look beyond what my naked eyes could see (1 Corinthians 2:9). It was only then, have I started to press forward.  This year, the Lord wanted us to enjoy the fruit of our perseverance, obedience and hard work " the (se) things God has prepared for those who love him" May this year be a fruitful year for all us. May He fill our ...

My Daily dose of Faith: More than water

Image
During one of the many episodes of sleepless nights last week, I woke up at 2 in the morning feeling dozing off, with excruciating head ache ( because of  less than 5 hours of sleep ), and extremely thirsty.  I had been working my ass off squeezing in months worth of  data trying hard to learn at least half of them in less than 5 days. A sudden feeling of burden dawned on me, leaving me crying without any reason at all.  It took awhile for me to realize how drained I was: Physically, Emotionally and even Spiritually. Only then have I decided to cry it out to Lord, through which I haven't done for a long time. Then I came across this daily reading entitled : More than water , by Peter Chin . Our Daily Bread Diary Edition , Vol 27.   The writer highlighted the importance of the Living water, and stated that different perspectives from a young believer versus that of a matured follower of Christ.  I was then reminded by the Holy Spirit on the day I willfully ...

Two Plus One = A fragment of blessing

Image
Deuteronomy 16:17 : "Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you."   Today, this verse's application came to life earlier this morning as I went to the market to buy fresh food in preparation to the food I am about to prepare for lunch time.  At one of the corners of the marketplace, there is a parked jeepney where "Manong" and his wife sell their Local product called Banana  (lakatan and saba). After I got all the major food supplies needed for the two weeks ECQ, found myself left with an exact amount to buy two large pieces of saba which is just the right amount for today's  meal called Pochero. To my surprise, "Manong" proactively asked "Bakit dalawa lang?" Then I said, this is enough for me. He then reached out to the pile of banana and then gave me another piece, then jokingly said. There! That's three , for I - Love- you . I smiled and thanked "Manong" w...

A thank you Note- From QA Sup April 12, 2021

Image
"Its not how long you lived but how you lived your life in full..." An old saying that goes around but will never really dawn on you until you really lived and then someone else testifies about your life in your Eulogy.  I was blessed enough to witness a true testimony in this lifetime through simple heartfelt notes and genuine gestures from people whom lives started with me sharing their first few baby steps within Quality. To some, their first few years within Quality may be full of Motivation, then Joy, then Pain, then Disappointments, then Anger and then Demotivation. I for one shared a piece of those experiences during my first 3 years being an Analyst. But these disappointments gave me a bigger perspective and helped me become a Leader who tries to despise those negativity by Nurturing them - Newbies to the best of my ability, teaching them the very core of Quality. And Instilling to them- Tenured a hunger for growth and passion of sharing a piece of oneself to hel...

A daughter's note : Blessed 60 years, Ma!

Image
OUR COVID-19  ZOOM CELEBRATION Take a peek of the Sally's Tribute here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPPAArUZVHU At exactly 30 days before November 14th , I started thinking of a project that would make your 60th birthday special amidst our distance. With zero knowledge about professional video editing, I started asking for video messages from family and friends while I cling to only these two things : my artistic capabilities and  lots of courageous love.  Fast forward, I started creating the project as soon as I receive responses back from family and friends. While doing my researching and conceptualizing. I was too focused in cropping and highlighting video messages so I can come up with a holistic video, capturing who you really are in other people's eyes. Not realizing that as I transform these into a one ...

A BEAUTIFUL THING: Daily devotion in the middle of COVID-19

Image
As this outbreak started to paralyze my daily routine starting March 17th of 2020, I was entoiled while catching up with my 20+  daily devotion back logs. Then on my 66th day, I came across this devotion entitled : A Beautiful Thing . wherein it sums up all the Beautiful things that happened to Moses and the Israelites (Old Testament) and Jesus' Crucifixion ( new testament) .  These stories are an epitome of Irony as the Israelites were given the Ten Commandments out of God's love while the people, instead of enjoying it, lived a life of indirection for 40 long years. Likewise when Jesus was about to be crucified, a woman poured an expensive perfume over His head. Doing so fulfills the anointing Jesus' body for burial ahead of time.  While these two are glaring example of two different perception of Beautiful, I was left with two reflective questions: What is the meaning of beautiful in the Lord's eyes? and What is the meaning of beautiful in a human perspect...

David's Prayer: My Piece of Exuberance

Image
Lost for words , overflowing joy and a spirit -filled heart : These are the words that best described the feeling I had, as I approach the stage, walking side by side with my daughter on her recognition day.  Who would have taught that the definition of Joy and Accomplishment can evolve from personal, to maternal. At this early stage of motherhood, the Lord has given His strong assurance over my daughter, and knowing she will be guided by the Holy Spirit all throughout her life's journey, is the most joyful part of it all.  "Who am I, O Sovereign Lord and what is my family that you have bought me this far? And as if this were not enough in sight, O sovereign Lord? Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, O Sovereign Lord, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever" 2 Samuel 7:18, 29

One day with Psalms

Image
Today, as I wait patiently for my Doctor, the Lord has impressed in my heart the advantage of being alone with Him. As always, He never fail to put me in awe. As I read through the Book of Psalms 30. I was reminded about my situation and how He sets an analogy over me and Nanay, my 80+ year old house companion.  The morning I felt the same pain at my lower back- she saw my agony though I was trying to manage the pain, she started calling me "Nita...(she calls me by a name that sounds like my real one), Nita..." trying to call my attention. When I looked at her, she started bending, twitching and dancing as if teaching me what I should do to ease the pain. She did all these while laughing while she teases me. For a second I was laughing with her, then a tear dropped suddenly then finally found myself crying for Joy as I was reminded: "He will take care of me... up until my old age" Today - this verse is so true and was made alive by a circumstance turned ...

A mother's note : Mother's day Blog

Image
Being a mother to a growing up little girl is not an easy task. In fact, the bigger she gets, the more difficult it is being a mom. I thought the first few years of motherhood was the hardest part, most especially for working moms like me. My perception was changed along my 9- year journey. Looking back, the first few years of my motherhood became less challenging because I have a very supportive and loving mother who always gets out of her way to make things right, at least for me and my daughter. Working at a night shift is less worrisome knowing she is right beside my daughter to address all her needs, to love her back when I am not visible. These, and a lot more reasons to thank God for sending me such a wonderful mom in this lifetime.. Years passes by, as my daughter grows up a little older, my maturity as a parent grew a little deeper in the process. The challenges becomes more difficult, much more harder than I ever thought it would be. As I face alot of trials in this work-...

AMAZED - A Birthday Blog

Image
" You dance over me.. while I am unaware..." "You sing all around.. but I never hear the sound.." "You paint the morning sky... with Miracles in Mind.." "My hope will always stand, for You hold me in your hand.." Nine years ago today, I started this Blog to showcase my talent in writing after an old mentor noticed a passive skill. Since then, this blog evolved from an emotional to informational and now a spiritual kind of blog and its transition is obvious looking back at my older blog posts.May 2, 2017 - Today, God gave me another reason to exalt Him (again) in His usual child-like way, if I may say. In deep need of His presence on this special day, I asked a dearest friend of mine to accompany me to a Prayer Mountain called Touch of Glory. Inside a prayer cell room, while everyone is supposed to be drowned in His presence- to my surprise, I wasn't even sober- perhaps a lot of things going on in my mind. Well after roughly an hour o...

A Mother's Birthday Greeting

Image
9 years ago today, at exactly 11:19 in the morning the Lord blessed me with a healthy, beautiful baby girl who, since the time I started to Labor  gave my life its meaning in a painful but joyful way.  Yep! I only labored for less than 4 hours. I knew since then that she will be my forever partner, someone who will make my single- motherhood more exciting and enjoyable. And it did.. Who would've thought, an  11 inch little baby girl would turn out to be someone who's shoe size is almost the same as mine?  (shoe size 7, now imagine how big she is today!) and its funny how I used to buy a lot of cute little shoes for her at the kid's section but today, have been struggling between kids and teens section as her shoe size falls somewhere in between LOL. Oh and yes! there are a lot of times I would hear these scary words from her:  "Mama pahiram ng shoes mo ha"  Scary for those vintage kicks she eyed for are a few moments away from retirement as they've bee...

A Journey to Taal (My 31st)

Image
2nd of May year 2016, around 6AM,  I packed my bag and together with my daughter we decided to visit Taal Volcano- the second most active volcano in the Philippines through which had shown signs of unrest last 1991 and last volcanic eruption was documented last 1977. At first, I just would like to explore something new on my birthday but the Lord has revealed a lot more to me on this day more than I could ever imagine. Here are my take ways on this trip: 1. The higher you wanna go in life, it is Life's requirement for you to go through the lowest point and take the roughest and rockiest road before you reach the top . I planned the said trip 3-4 days before and knew all along that we were supposed to do trekking up to the crater of Taal, Just that.. I didn't know it was a 4KM trekking (total of 8KM back and forth) until we are right in the middle of it. I tried walking my way up the track but the heat (from the direct sunlight and Sulfur emitted from the actual Volcano) , ...
